CORPUS CHRISTI ADVENT PROJECTS
Corpus Christi students will participate in two Community Service projects during this Advent Season. Participating in these projects teaches the children to be mindful of those less fortunate, to be aware of those who are in circumstances beyond their control, and to remember that each of us is a child of God.
We hope that our students will be as generous as possible in these endeavors.
The first project is for a family, selected by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. This family, parents and two children, will have no gifts without our help. Children should bring their donation toward the purchase of gifts to their teachers between December 1 and December 17. Thank you for your generosity.
The second Advent Project is for a group called Hour Children. Hour Children is an organization dedicated to providing assistance to children and families who are involved in the criminal justice system. The name, Hour Children, reflects the fact the these children’s lives are dictated by the HOURS of sentencing and visitations to parents, as well as the hopeful promise of the long anticipated hour of reunion.
Children are asked to bring something in according to their grade levels. For example, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children are asked to contribute a package of Baby Wipes. A list will be sent home to explain what your child is asked to contribute.
Thank you for your generosity during this Advent season.
