On Tuesday, November 21, five of Corpus Christi’s sixth grade students visited Catholic Charities’ Kennedy Center Food Pantry in Harlem. The class had been working for two weeks, collecting food from their schoolmates, who generously donated many, many cans, boxes, jars, and bags of food for people in the school’s surrounding neighborhood to use during the coming holiday season. While there, the sixth graders and their teacher, Ms. Jenny Rodriguez, helped to distribute special Thanksgiving items such as sweet potatoes and onions. They were also happy to visit with Msgr. Kevin Sullivan, Executive Director of Catholic Charities, ADNY and with Archbishop Timothy Dolan, both of whom happily posed for pictures with our students! The boys and girls were very excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve those in need. They came back promising to find more ways to serve!
